What is  different between your kit and others ... ?

The Cobrette is a Vette body replacement. It is built on a crash test frame with millions of dollars spent on engineering and testing to provide the safest frame on the market in the like kit industry. This is a car you can drive coast to coast and if it were to brake does you can pull into Firestone or a good year stoner tell them that the car is a 78 Vette (or the applicable year) and actually  get the car fixed and back on the road in no time. It is NOT a combination of 15 cars put togeather to make it work. It is simply a Vette that looks like a Cobra inspired car that weighs 2400 lbs and can be titled as a 1966 in most states.

All Hand Laid Fiberglass . Approximately 1/4 inch thick . Some places where the body and floor bond togeather as much as 1/2 in thick . Remember thicker is not better or stronger, although too thin will crack. All the points where the body mounts to the frame are reinforced with Roven woven   almost 1/2 thick even before the resin is applied .

What year is the best to buy  ... ?

Tough question. This all depends on what you are after. The frames are Identical 68-82 . However , the 80-82 have the best ride although the downside is it will handle the least amount of HP to the rear end "WITHOUT"  modifications. The 68-72 vette body parts "NOT" used bring big bucks,  as much as $1500 + just for a front clip and $1000+ for a nice interior. The un - used parts help feed money back into your Cobrette. Definitely points  to consider.

How much wider and longer is the Cobrette .. ?

The Cobrette molds were pulled from and original 66 427 Cobra and then the car was modified 4 inches wider down the middle and 5 inches longer through the doors.

The Cobrette is proportionate in track and wheelbase and does not look awkward .
